Initial Postnatal Care (0-6 weeks)
The first six weeks after giving birth can often pass by in a haze of nappy changes, feeding and sleepless nights. However, there can be some very distressing issues that linger on into the 4th trimester or occur for women during this time.
Anatomy Physiotherapy can greatly assist with many of these acute postnatal ailments and it is important to address any concerns early and not rely on Dr. Google for the answers.
After you have given birth, we recommend that you book in for treatment at Anatomy Physiotherapy if you are suffering from any of the following issues:
- Leaking from your bladder or bowel
- Extreme urgency or frequency of the bladder or bowel
- An extremely sore back or neck
- Tailbone pain
- Severe pubic symphysis or sacroiliac pain
- Engorgement, blocked duct or mastitis
- Cracked Nipples
- Perineal swelling
- Painful Haemorrhoids
- Significant episiotomy
- 3rd or 4th degree tear
- Large gap in your tummy muscles
- Gaping stitches (only after being checked by your GP/PHN first)
